What do I need to get started?
GWO Certification
GWO certification is mandatory training required to work in the onshore and offshore wind industry. Our training provides the necessary foundation needed to get you started in one of the fastest growing markets.
Upon gaining the required GWO Certifications, your information will be registered in the Wind Industry Database (WINDA) and you will be considered competent and knowledgeable according to the learning objectives of that standard.
Employment of wind turbine service technicians is projected to grow 57% from 2018 to 2028.
Mandatory Training // FAQs
What courses are mandatory?
To obtain your GWO certification you will need to complete the mandatory training.
GWO Basic Safety Training (BST) or GWO Basic Safety Training (BST) with Sea survival*. The courses comprise of the following modules.
- GWO1002 Work at Height – Period Valid: 24 Months
- GWO2002 Medic First Aid + Trauma at Height – Period Valid: 24 Months
- GWO101 Fire Awareness – Period Valid: 24 Months
- GWO102 Manual Handling – Period Valid: 24 Months
- GWO103 Sea Survival – Period Valid: 24 Months (*with Sea Survival)
