GWO Basic Safety Training with Sea Survival


The GWO Basic Safety Training program (GWO-BST) was created as the safety standard for those working at height in the wind industry.

It is globally recognized and ensures that any GWO-BST certificate holder has demonstrated competence and proficiency in the following areas:

  • GWO1002 Work at Height – Period Valid: 24 Months
  • GWO2002 Medic First Aid + Trauma at Height – Period Valid: 24 Months
  • GWO101 Fire Awareness – Period Valid: 24 Months
  • GWO102 Manual Handling – Period Valid: 24 Months
  • GWO103 Sea Survival – Period Valid: 24 Months 

The aims of this BST Sea Survival course are, by theoretical and practical training, to give the participants the ability to act safely and responsibly, and to take the correct preventive actions in all aspects of offshore operations from shore to installation vessel or WTG and vice versa, both during normal operation and in an emergency in an offshore wind energy environment.

Prerequisites: Participants will be in good health and physically capable of fully taking part in all course activities. Participants are subjected to rigorous activity. The working at heights program will include climbing up a ladder or side of tower, working on an elevated platform and egressing from a height using rescue devices. Students MUST bring work clothes suitable for working at heights, work boots and photo ID. All other equipment will be provided. MAXIMUM BODY WEIGHT 260LB
